Part of Schuhplattler is preserving culture and history by accurately wearing traditional clothing or Tracht. In the case of our Schuhplattler group, we are primarily a Schuhplattler Verein as we dance both schuhplattler and volstanze (folk dance).
Think of it our group as historical reenactors as we preserve the style and clothing worn in the Bavarian region of Miesbach during the 1800’s. Our Tracht is often custom crafted by hand and our appearance from hairstyles and facial care to jewelry and accessories are selected by our members who strive to represent how a Bavarian would appear 200 years ago.
